What we believe
At The Vine Community Church, what we believe shapes everything we do — from how we worship to how we serve our community.
Our faith is centred on Jesus Christ. We believe that God is loving, powerful and good, and that through Jesus we can know Him personally, experience forgiveness, and discover new life.
We believe the Bible is God’s word and seek to live by its teaching in a way that is relevant and meaningful for everyday life.
The Vine is rooted in the words of Jesus in John’s Gospel:
“I am the true vine… Abide in me, and I will abide in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit… As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.”
(John 15:1)

This picture shapes who we are as a church.
We believe that life and growth come from staying connected to Jesus. Everything we do flows from that relationship — learning to remain in Him, to be formed by His love, and to bear fruit in our lives and in our community.
Our Heart
At the centre of our life together is a desire to:
- Know God more deeply
- Grow in faith and character
- Support and encourage one another
- Share the hope of Jesus with others
We believe that church is not just a place to attend, but a community to belong to — where people can be known, supported, and grow together.
Prayer is an important part of our life as a church, and we seek to listen to God and follow His leading in all that we do.
A Church for the Community
Our faith is not just something we believe — it’s something we live out.
We are committed to serving our local community in practical ways, supporting people of all ages and backgrounds, and creating spaces where people can find connection, care, and hope.
We are also passionate about supporting mission beyond our local area, partnering with others both in the UK and internationally.
Our Wider Connections
The Vine Community Church is part of the Groundlevel Network and a member of the Evangelical Alliance.

We also support mission and outreach both locally and globally, including partnerships with churches and organisations such as Open Doors and work in Kenya.
